94th AUČCJ Conference – The Lecturer as a Professional

On Saturday, 3 October 2026, members of the Department of Slavic Languages attended the 94th Conference of the Association of Teachers of Czech as a Foreign Language (AUČCJ), entitled “The Lecturer as a Professional”. The conference took place in person at Hotel Krystal in Prague. AUČCJ

The conference offered a varied programme focusing on current issues in teaching Czech as a foreign language and on the professional development of language teachers. We particularly appreciated the sessions presenting Česky s vlaštovkou teaching materials, the creation of materials for Generation Z, and the session “From Lecturer to Author”, which explored how teachers can turn their classroom experience into their own teaching materials.

The conference was also a valuable opportunity to meet colleagues working in the field of Czech as a foreign language, exchange experience and establish new professional contacts. During the event, we agreed on future cooperation with AUČCJ and the possibility of members of our department contributing to future AUČCJ conferences.

Our participation therefore brought not only new inspiration for our teaching practice, but also concrete opportunities for further professional exchange and cooperation.
