Participation in the ÚJOP Charles University Methodological Symposium 2026

From 8 to 12 June 2026, Kateřina Masaříková and Petra Zlámaná from the Department of Slavic Languages at the Prague University of Economics and Business took part in the Methodological Symposium organised by the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies of Charles University (ÚJOP UK), a traditional professional event for teachers of Czech as a foreign language from the Czech Republic and abroad.

The 2026 symposium was held under the theme “Through All the Senses” (“Všemi smysly”) and featured a wide range of lectures, workshops, and practical sessions focused on current trends in teaching Czech as a foreign language.

The programme covered topics such as the use of language corpora, images, music, and poetry in the classroom, innovative teaching games, aspect dictionaries, and the application of generative AI tools in language education. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about new publications by leading authors of Czech-language teaching materials, including Lída Holá and Zdena Malá.

The symposium provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from different countries, discuss current methodological challenges, and establish new professional contacts. The knowledge and inspiration gained during the event will contribute to the further development of the department’s teaching and academic activities.
